Most search results for eCash point to the wrong coin. That coin is called XEC, and it already trades on big exchanges. The eCash we cover here is ECX, a new Bitcoin fork still in its alpha phase.
If you want to know how to buy eCash ECX, the honest answer starts here: you cannot buy it on any exchange yet. No listing exists. No confirmed price exists either.
That does not mean you have no options. You can already hold ECX through Bitcoin you control, mine it directly, or use an unofficial swap site at your own risk.

How do you buy eCash ECX?
You cannot buy eCash ECX on any official exchange right now. The project sits in alpha, its first stage, with no confirmed market price. Three options exist today. You can already hold ECX if you held Bitcoin in a self-custody wallet before a snapshot block. You can mine ECX directly through a dedicated pool. Why You Can't Buy eCash ECX on an Exchange Yet
eCash ECX sits in alpha right now, the first of three launch stages. No official exchange lists ECX yet, and no confirmed price exists for it.
Beta is expected around September 20, 2026. That stage should bring wallet and exchange integration.
Mainnet is expected around October 31, 2026. ECX becomes permanent then, and real pricing can start to form on exchanges that choose to list it.
A new coin with no exchange listing is normal, not a warning sign on its own. Every new fork goes through this same early stretch.

How to Buy eCash ECX: Your 3 Real Options Right Now
You have three real paths to ECX today. None of them work like a normal exchange purchase.
Option one: you already hold Bitcoin yourself, in a wallet you control, before a snapshot block. Option two: you mine ECX directly. Option three: you use an unofficial swap site, understanding the risk involved.

How to Mine ECX (Basic Info)
Mining ECX works differently than mining XEC. Most mining guides online cover XEC, the older coin, not the new ECX fork.
Multiple pools mine ECX. Ecashpool-alpha led the field during alpha, alongside Kikko, L2L Pool, NurseryPool, Ckpool, Layertree, BIP300.xyz, and others. NurseryPool uses SHA-256d, charges a 1% fee, and pays out through PPLNS with no registration required.
ECX wallet addresses use the same format as Bitcoin addresses, starting with bc1. Never send ECX to a regular exchange deposit address. The exchange will read it as a Bitcoin address, and your coins will be lost.
We ran through pool setup ourselves before writing this section, checking connection details and wallet steps first. That same check is worth doing before you point any hardware at a new pool.
NurseryPool: SHA-256d, 1% fee, PPLNS, no registrationSolofork: an independent solo pool for ECX, non-custodial, 2% donation fee, run pseudonymously from the EU. As of September, the site states it is running BTC testnet4 as a development scaffold, with the live ECX pool planned for mainnet on October 31, 2026. Check the site before pointing hardware at it.
The pECX Burn Exchange: How Redemption Works
pECX turns into real ECX through a burn process, not a trade. You send your pECX to a special address, and those coins leave circulation for good.
The rate is 1,000 pECX for every 10 ECX. You need at least 1,000 pECX to redeem.
Burning only works after mainnet activates, expected around October 31, 2026. It does not work during alpha or beta.
This path only applies if you already hold pECX. It is not a way to buy ECX from scratch.

The Unofficial pECX Swap Site: What to Know Before You Use It
One fan-run site, alpha.pecx.shop, lets you swap real Bitcoin for Alphanet pECX. LayerTwo Labs does not run this site.
The site is unofficial and works in a custodial style. Liquidity stays thin, so your trade may not fill at the rate you expect.
